SMBG January 2014 Ranking of the best post-high school and post-preparatory class programmes
Several NEOMA Business School programmes appear in the SMBG 2014 ranking of the best post-high school and post-preparatory class programmes. This ranking is mainly based on three criteria: The reputation of the programme (which is assessed via its level of recognition by HRMs), salary levels for the first job after graduation and further studies, together with levels of satisfaction expressed in a survey of a sample of at least 10% of the most recent set of graduates.
Note: In France, after leaving high-school, many students follow intensive two-year classes to prepare for entrance exams to enter three-year, ‘Master Grande Ecole’ business programmes.
The NEOMA BS Master Grande Ecole is ranked 8th in the ranking of post-preparatory class business schools.
Meanwhile the TEMA programme is ranked 2nd in the ranking of post-high school business schools.
CESEM is ranked 1st for International Bachelor programmes in Management. In the same ranking, the BSc in International Business is ranked 9th.
The Bachelor in Commerce is ranked 7th (Rouen) and 8th (Reims) in the ranking for General and Corporate Management Bachelor programmes.
The Bachelor in Retail Management-ECAL is ranked 3rd for Bachelor programmes in Negotiation, Sales, Commerce and Retail.
The annual Financial Times ranking of “The Top 70 Masters in Management Programmes,” published on 16 September 2013 ranks the NEOMA Business School Master Grande Ecole programme in 39th position overall and in 7th position for French “Grande Ecole” Programmes.
There are a number of indicators that substantiate the strategy that the School has decided to follow. The level of employability of our Master Grande Ecole graduates (20th position) is particularly stressed by the Financial Times journalists. Indeed, 85% of our graduates begin their first job within three months of graduating. This excellent rate is an illustration of the ability of NEOMA Business School to train managers who fulfil the expectations of business, both in France and internationally.
Apart from the speed with which its graduates enter the job market, the Master Grande Ecole programme is also recognised for the salary levels they achieve, for which the programme is in 7th position among French “Grandes Ecoles.” “International courses experience,” for which the programme is in 18th position, is also a strong indicator of the programme’s ability to offer genuinely i it is related to the mission of training leaders who are capable of working in multicultural environments.
This ranking does not call into question the intrinsic quality of the Master Grande Ecole programme, even if we have areas to explore to improve our ranking in 2014. The ambition of NEOMA Business School remains to be one of the leading business schools in Europe.
Financial Times European Business School Rankings 2013
NEOMA Business School is in 65th position. This ranking combines the results obtained by schools in four rankings carried out each year by the Financial Times (MBA, EMBA, Masters in Management and Executive Education), and also takes into consideration the qualifications of the school’s Faculty.
For 2013, NEOMA Business School only entered for the Masters in Management ranking, and not for the three other FT rankings. The rule fixed by the Financial Times for schools which have just merged is that only the graduate responses provided in 2013 count for the ranking. Normally, these make up 50% of the total, and those from the two previous years make up 25% each.
As a result, unlike other schools NEOMA Business School was not able to benefit from combining its scores in all four rankings.
In order to obtain a more realistic position in 2014, NEOMA Business School aims to enter for all the Financial Times rankings. In view of the rules currently used by the FT, this should help to reposition us as a challenger among international Business Schools.

The BSc in International Business(Rouen Campus) is in 5th position for “Academic Excellence.” It also benefits from an excellent reputation and teaching delivered by high-quality teaching staff. The programme’s 2nd position for “International Openness” reflects the high degree of international exposure that its students receive, and the quality of its international academic network. Finally, the programme is placed 5th in the ranking for Proximity to Business,” which reflects in particular the numerous companies present at the Business Fair organised by the School.
TEMA,a five-year programme delivered on our Reims campus, is ranked 8th for “Academic Excellence,” confirming the steady academic progress this programme has made since 1999.
