金融专业最常见的三种学位,你读对了么?
金融专业是特别热门的商科专业,虽然该专业特别偏爱理工科背景,尤其是数学很好的申请者,但即便没有理科背景,也是可以申请的。
申请的人多了,自然各方面的要求,如托福,GMAT、GPA等的要求也就高上去了。不过,最让大家郁闷的估计就是傻傻分不清楚的金融,金融数学,金融工程,甚至MBA下面也居然来了一个Finance?
Finance常见的三种学位:
最常见的就是MSF(Master of Science in Finance),国际生最常申的金融硕士。
需要注意的是:TOP20的学校,开设这个学位的不多;分支很多,如数理金融、计算金融、应用金融,风险金融等;美国的金融硕士MSF并非都是两年。很多学校是一年或者是一年半。
MBA:Finance大类属于商科,一般设置在商学院下面,但不少名校会把Finance放在MBA的分之下,如哈佛,宾大。
MFin 学位:(master of finance 或 master in finance)与MSF的区别是更加注重金融学的理论与实际层面,如金融经济学,金融工程和计算方法。与MSF的相同点是,开设的学校也不是很多。
MFE 金融工程/金融数学:(Financial Engineering 或 Computational Finance)使用数学、计算机技术解决金融问题。通常设在工学院或数学系下,由工学院、商学院、数学系联合授课。MFE喜欢理工背景的学生,或选修过很多数学课。
其主要研究分支包括:

英国金融专业及转专业申请解析

英国作为全世界银行及金融服务业领导中心一,其大学对于金融的研究和教育也十分重视,加之其卓著的教育声誉和良好的经济环境,英国早已经成为了接受先进金融教育的首选国家之一。每年大量的学生选择英国的金融学作为自己未来的深造专业,无论本科是否是金融相关专业,都梦想着进入诸如爱丁堡、曼大、巴斯等世界名校的商学院学习。今天,启德郭老师就把金融专业大类进行解析分类。
一、纯金融课程:MSc in Finance
剑桥,圣安德鲁斯,帝国理工,LSE,杜伦,Exeter,华威,巴斯,兰卡斯特,拉夫堡,约克,莱斯特,谢菲,纽卡,卡迪夫,曼大,埃塞克斯等
二、会计与金融:MSc in Accounting and Finance
不知道大家有没有注意到,在英国是没有单纯的会计专业的,都是跟金融相结合的课程,也就是MSc in Accounting and Finance。开设此专业的学校有:LSE(需提供GMAT),杜伦,约克,兰卡斯特,爱丁堡,Exeter,Surrey,UEA,lEEDS,巴斯等。
三、金融及其相关的专业:就是指课程的设置并不是单纯的金融方向的,而是与投资(investment),经济(economics),银行业(banking),管理(management)等方向结合起来的课程,因为其课程的多样性,新颖性,越来越受国际学生的青睐,大部分的大学开始此类课程。如:MSc Banking & Financial Services;MSc Financial Forecasting & Investment;MSc Financial Risk Management;MSc International Banking & Finance;MSc International Finance & Economic Policy;MSc International Trade & Finance等。
转专业申请金融
第一类:本科读的是偏商科类。例如:国际经济与贸易
中国的大学开设了很多专业,如国际经济与贸易、财务管理等,这些专业听起来好像都属于金融、会计范畴,因此,学生和家长都会认为这些专业就一定可以申请到英国名校的金融专业。其实,这些专业不一定是和金融相关,学生要出具他们完整的课程设置,经过一定的分析,看看他们与金融学科的一个匹配度有多少,才能够分析这个学生是否能够顺利入读金融专业。
建议:这类专业的学生如果GPA比较高,综合条件比较好的话,可以换个相近专业试试,例如:FinancialManagement,这样还是可以申请到名校。
或者申请一些可以接受学生目前背景的学校,但有可能这类学校的金融专业度就不是很高了,当然,也正因为专业度不高,学校才可以接受金融背景不太强的学生。
第二类:本科是工科专业,例如:计算机、金融数学、电子、数学等
有很多工科背景的学生也都想涉足金融界。其实,这类工科背景的学生倒比第一类学生更有优势,因为英国大学的金融专业比较愿意接受数学好的学生。
建议:如果学生数学方面比较有天赋,建议申请英国的金融数学专业(FinancialMathematics),也叫金融工程专业。
这个专业需要比较强的数学、计算机方面的知识,简单来说就是应用数学、计算机能力对金融投资做出分析、研究金融衍生产品、进行公司理财和风险投资。
学生毕业后一般都是在银行、投行、股票、基金等方面工作,就业前景非常好,薪水也非常高!对于数学能力较弱或者没有兴趣的学生,建议申请理论知识较强的金融、投资、银行、金融管理等专业。
第三类:本科是双学位,其中辅修金融、会计、经济学专业
目前双学位的学生越来越多,有些学生和家长认为,自己辅修了金融类专业,而且成绩不错,毕业可以获得一个经济学位,是不是就可以申请好大学的金融专业了?
但其实不然。还是要看到底辅修了多少课程。虽然辅修课程一般都是专业课程,但是,目前我们国内辅修的课程一般只有10-15门,相对主修专业来讲,这些数量太少了,因此,英国大学会觉得你的金融背景不够扎实,想进名校显然不是非常容易的事情。
建议:和第一类学生一样,建议考虑申请金融管理等相关专业,或者申请一些专业度不高的学校的金融专业。或者学生可以在力所能及的情况下有一些金融相关的实习经历,再加上强有力的文书,能够提高被名校录取的概率。
第四类:本科专业和金融一点关联没有,例如:英语、教育、传媒等
由于这些专业没有任何数学、金融类的课程,因此,即使学生综合条件特别好,想申请较好学校的金融也非常难。
建议:直接考虑金融管理类的专业,比如:人类资源管理、市场管理、全球供应链管理等,或者申请专业度不高且可以被录取的学校(有可能学校的综合排名或者专业排名没有那么高)。

How do economic policies dictate the actions of financial markets? What are the key factors underpinning corporate finance decisions? Are current financial markets efficient? To what extent should the banking sector be regulated?Questions such as these are crucial to the finance and banking sectors, and this course provides you with the ability to explore them in full. This programme is intended for students who have a keen interest in the operation of financial markets as well as the organisation of the banking industry within the UK and other parts of the world.

Bloomberg Suite
You can use this essential business research tool and gain real-life financial experience. Created by the Mayor of New York, Mike Bloomberg, the system is used by over a quarter of a million finance professionals globally. You too can virtually access the same data, analytics and software used by city traders via one of our Bloomberg terminals.
We have invested heavily in open access computer suites across campus. Great working spaces with high-spec PCs (multimedia and CAD), Macs and printing facilities. There is also more specialised software and equipment available such as large format printing, audio-visual equipment and language laboratories. Should you need any assistance, there are specialist technicians on hand to support you in using the facilities.
Placements Office
Take advantage of our Faculty&s Placements Office. Advertising a great variety of work placements, the experienced team is always on hand to offer advice on everything from producing high-quality applications through to preparation for a company assessment day.

Budgeting for your studies
There are extra costs associated with studying, which you will need to consider when planning your expenditure.
Recommended texts:
If you wish to purchase recommended texts, rather than borrow from the University Library, the average price is ?50-?60. You may be studying up to 6 units a year, each with a standard recommended text.
General costs:
We recommend that you budget ?75 a year for costs of photocopying, memory sticks, DVDs and CDs, printing charges, binding and specialist printing.
Final year project:
If your final year includes a major project, there could be cost for transport or accommodation related to your research activities. The amount will depend on the project you choose to develop.
